Noah (looking at something on the bathroom counter): Mommy, what's that?
Me: It's a tampon.
Noah: What does it do?
Me: It's a girl thing.
Noah: But what is it for?
Me: I'll tell you when you're older.
Noah: Oh....like when I'm 4?

Me: Who are your friends in class?
Noah: Umm...Austin. And Mackenzie!
Me: Mackenzie is a cutie.
Noah: Yeah, she's GORGEOUS!

Halloween Part II - Pumpkin Carving!

So this was our first year to make a jack-o-lantern. I can't even tell you how many years it's been since I've made one, but when you have a 3 year old, it's mandatory.

Noah was a little worried about that big knife.

And grossed out by the nastiness inside.

But the pumpkin seeds were kind of cool.

Max watched from a safe distance. He was worried about the knife, too.

Halloween Part I - Pumpkin Farm!

Yeah, yeah, I know. Can I pay someone to update my blog for me?

A few weeks before Halloween we headed to the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch. It's a really neat little place and they have cheap hot dogs, which is a huge plus for me.

First, we fed some animals. At least we tried. It looks like most of them had been eating for about 4 solid hours when we got there, so they weren't too interested. The longhorn stood smack dab in the middle of his pen so that no one could come anywhere near him. He was SO over it.

There was a bounce house...

and a giant inflatable slide!

It was a total ripoff. Noah loved it. So we paid.

Then we climbed aboard the hayride.

Our friends Penny & James were also there with their son, Matthew.

Here Penny is giving me a WTF do you want? smile.

We saw haybales shaped like giant spiders...

and pigs!

Then we headed over to the pumpkin patch.

But not without checking out Collin County's Longest Goat Bridge first, of course.

Everything but the kitchen sink

Apparently, Old McDonald had a farm. And on that farm he had a tree, taxi, biscuit, kiss, mommy, pizzahead, daddy, airplane and Jiminy Cricket. Who knew?

Last year we had Noah's 2 year pictures taken in July - 2 months after his birthday. This year, we were 3 months behind schedule. Soon enough we'll be getting his 7 year pictures taken when he's 8.

This morning, Noah and I headed over to Grinny's house to do a little swimming. He hasn't had swim lessons yet, but I'm trying to take him swimming when I can so that he can get really comfortable in the water. He always starts out petrified to let go of my arm or bathing suit, but after being in the water for a while he loosens up quite a bit. This was the first day he jumped in the pool all by himself! He was so proud...as was I. :)

Me: Let's go downstairs to watch Pinocchio. There's nothing to sit on up here and my legs hurt.
Noah: MY legs don't hurt.
Me: Yeah, well, mommy's old.
Noah: (thinks about this for a moment) I'm not old - I'm new!

Me: If you run in the street and get hit by a car it's going to hurt really bad.
Noah: And then I'll have to put on a lot of Spiderman Band-aids!

Noah's First Ranger Game!

Back in June, Noah went to his first Ranger game. Interestingly, as I write this I just watched the Rangers give up SIX runs to Boston in the top of the 9th. Big surprise - the Rangers choked AGAIN. Anyway, here are some pictures from his first baseball game. We had a great time. (Although I still think baseball is about 4 innings too long.)

His first John Deere

Noah's 3rd birthday gift from Grinny & Grampy (my parents). We're going to get him a real riding mower next so that he can start doing the lawn.

And...one more while it's fresh in my mind

I walked into the kitchen this weekend to find stickers on every cabinet and the oven. When he had time to create this masterpiece, I don't know.

Me: (stopping and staring at the cabinets)
Noah: (follows me into the kitchen and sees me staring. He looks at me...and then at the cabinets..and then back at me.) Solemnly says: "Mom, they're just stickers."

Easter eggs

Just about to start dyeing Easter eggs. Noah can barely contain himself!

After we were done and he had taken a bath, he insisted on coming back to tke kitchen so he could see them one more time. He also asked if he could sleep with one egg. (I said no.)
